Vórtice Filigree Pendant
Description
The spiral is a part of nature that fascinates. It appears in Neolithic stone, in nautilus shells, in the movement of water finding its center. It is not ornament invented by man; It is a record of force.
This pendant is hand-worked in fine silver filigree. Fine silver wire is drawn, twisted, then coiled, and placed by hand into a form that mirrors the vortex: a spiral that pulls inward, holds tension, and refuses to collapse.
Two Colombian emeralds are set within the coil. The frame is .925 silver while the fine twisting requires .999 fine silver for the wire to resist the force of the twisting that causes harder wire to snap. The finer silver gives the filigree its suppleness; the sterling gives the structure its strength. Both are present because both are necessary.
Chain not included. Pair with our black leather cord or sterling silver chain to complete your piece. Chain options available upon request.
Fine silver and sterling silver are best kept dry. Store separately to avoid surface contact with other metals. Clean gently with a soft cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, which can disturb filigree work and damage natural emeralds.
